Work was completed in four weekends

The Project In Detail

Works were scheduled to take place at night over a period of approximately 12 weeks, but problems with residents just after the riots brought the works to a halt. Works were rescheduled to take place at the weekend over 4 weeks, severely reducing the time for completion.

Despite site access being limited to the station stairs for the entire works, we successfully resurfaced and installed drainage to both platforms during the time period. With the use of additional manpower, we excavated the platforms to 225m and removed all the material (450 tonnes worth) via the stairs. In total we installed 270m of channel drain and completed 900m of resurfacing to the platforms.
