Working in collaboration with the experts at Overrail and instructed by Network Rail, this project carried out a range of refurbishments to the footbridge at Wivenhoe Station in Essex.

Wivenhoe Station Footbridge Refurbishment

This refurbishment work covered several aspects of improving the safety and aesthetics of the footbridge. Overrail’s team installed a new, secure handrail to the footbridge for the added safety of users, built to the client’s exact specifications.

The team also performed maintenance to the web stiffeners and sections of the bridge, as well as comprehensively prepare and paint its badly worn interior and exterior.

All work was completed in 5 weeks, taking place during both the daytime and out of operation hours.
